How is a ready-made wooden figure created?
The master sculptor creates a plasticine
design. The model sculpture is then hand-carved in wood by the artist.
The dry and flawless wood is cut to measure. With the help of the
pantograph, the figures are prefabricated according to the hand-carved
models and in this way are given their basic form.
The rough ready-made
figures are passed into the hands of the carver who takes care of the
refinements
The painter gives the figure that appealing
look: painted in pastel, tasteful colouring or even staining so that the
woodgrain is clearly evident. It is now ready for the customer.
The “Gardena Art” brand was launched to
protect woodcarving products from imitations. This trademark should above
all convey the message: “Gardena Art” is 100 per cent Val Gardena. The
customer can rely on the fact that the products with the trademark “Gardena
Art” are produced exclusively in the Val Gardena valley.
